CONGRESS TO LEGALIZE HEROIN?

Will wonders never cease? Barney Frank and I agree on something. Something important!
Back in January, 2012 I posted the article "LET'S TALK ABOUT THE ONE WE LOST". In that post, I put forth the idea that we would be better off - or at least do less harm if we legalized ALL drugs.
Now, retired representative Barney Frank has agreed with me in almost all areas (he exempted PCP) and for the same reasons I stated.
Many other people have argued along the same lines that Frank and I state but now it's not just people around the country. Now it's congressmen, both retired and current.
It's time to stop funding the cartels, filling our prisons with people that have done nothing more than get high, ripping apart families worse than the drugs do and spending billions of tax payer dollars funding a losing battle against drugs.

Read about Mr. Frank here:

Ron Paul agrees but for different reasons.

Even mainstream groups like the Cato institute and the Washington Post have weighed in on the side of legalization.

Quite honestly, I very seriously doubt that congress will ever consider legalizing drugs, with the possible exception of marijuana, but it is an interesting concept.
Just some food for thought. Let me know what you think.

Stay tuned for my take on global warming

IS GOVERNMENT TYRANNY A REAL THREAT?

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny." - Thomas Jefferson

In May, President Obama gave the commencement address to the at graduates at Ohio State University. In that address, he said1 ‘‘Unfortunately, you’ve grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s at the root of all our problems,’’ Obama told the crowd at the Ohio State commencement ceremony, which totaled almost 60,000 people. ‘‘They’ll warn that tyranny is always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices.’’

Is that right? Should you fear our government? Are these warnings the rantings of a few right-wing radicals, or is government tyranny truly creeping up on us? First, watch THIS VIDEO. Then read on.
We are a country of laws and those laws are centered around our constitution. It is that document, to the exclusion of all others that make us who we are as a country.
The rights to freedom of religion, of the press, to assemble and to redress grievances.
The right to keep and bear arms.
Freedom from unreasonable search and seizure.
   From incriminating yourself.
The right to a speedy trial. To a trial by jury and to have a reasonable bail set and from cruel and from unusual punishment.

It has been said about the first ten amendments to our constitution (our Bill of Rights 2) that the First Amendment is the basis for all of our freedoms and the Second Amendment is there to insure that the government doesn't forget about or attempt to deny us the other nine. So are they under attack? Are our rights as people and citizens at risk?

Let's start with your freedom of religion3; that's of, not from. This was one of the primary reasons for the establishment of our country and yet:
Even religious employers now have to hire people who disagree and/or violate the employer's religious beliefs.
Catholic employers now have to provide abortion coverage which violates the basic tenants of their beliefs.
Lawsuits have been brought to stop astronauts from praying in outer space and to take “in God we trust” from our currency
Our president even deliberately refuses to say “endowed by their Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence4.

Or let's talk about freedom of speech5. Any speech that seems to anger someone; the actual basis of "Free Speech"(who complains about speech they agree with?) is now persecuted.
Under the guise of reducing copyright infringement two bills currently before congress would, if passed "give the U.S. government the ability to shut down literally millions of websites"6.
Prayers are currently being censored at military funerals7. To me, this is one of the most disturbing things I have ever heard this or any government be accused of.
Then there is the very recent attack on the freedom of the press8. Just a few days ago it was revealed that the Obama administration secretly got the phone records of 20 phone lines from the Associated Press. Next they went after James Rosen, a Fox News reporter, going so far as to label him a "possible 'co-conspirator' in a criminal investigation"9. These outrageous attacks on our basic freedoms are only the most recent by Obama and his thugs.

And now there is the all-out assault and condemnation of our Right to Bear Arms. This was specifically what Obama was referring to in his " tyranny is always lurking just around the corner" comments. Many left-wingers are trying to say that the Second Amendment isn't needed any more. People say that since we have the police and military, the people don't need guns.
In a talk about proposing gun bans, Obama said that since we elected the government, we needn't fear them. Did you vote for David Axelrod and Eric Holder? How about anyone in the IRS? I certainly didn't. And; Hey; Obama! Don't forget that over 49% of the people DIDN'T vote for you.

So do we need guns to protect ourselves from the federal government? Let's face it, since the dawn of civilization, if a government wants to oppress and suppress its citizens, the first thing it has to do is disarm the people. Even Hitler didn't try to invade countries where the population was armed. He knew he would fail. We need guns to repel any invaders and to fight all enemies from without and within. An armed citizenry is the only deterrent to tyranny. Look at history. If you believe that the American government won't try to set up a dictatorship once we the people are disarmed and at their mercy, you are living in a fantasy world.
Do we the people need to protect our right to keep and bear arms at any cost? Absolutely. The second amendment is the only thing allowing us to keep the first and third through tenth. Read the papers. Watch the news. Our very survival as a society is at stake.

At least that's my opinion. What's yours?

Next month: Is global warming real or a hoax? The answer may surprise you.

LOOK AGAIN IN JUNE

I won't be posting this month.
In June, look for the constitution conspiracy. Is the US constitution obsolete? Is there a conspiracy to get rid of it or at least rewrite it?

02 April 2013

A CONSPIRACY OF CONSIENCE

Have you seen "Schindler's List"? How about "The Silver Fleet"? Both

movies are WWII yarns with a similar theme; passive resistance and civil

disobedience1.

The spirit of resistance to oppressive laws and government has a long and

distinguished history. One of the best known resistance movements - and

arguably the longest lived one - is Christianity. Quite possibly the second

(first to some) best known proponent of civil disobedience was Mahatma

Ghandi2. In this country, Martin Luther King Jr. was a major proponent of

civil disobedience during the civil rights fight of the 60s.

Whenever a government becomes oppressive with its taxation, legal

restrictions, regulations or anything else that erodes the freedoms of the

people under their rule, some people will resist. The greater the oppression,

the greater the resistance. Many people - myself included - feel that the time

has once again come for some good new civil disobedience again in the good

old US of A.

Take Obamacare. How can you resist that? Just don't sign up until you

get sick. The fine3 will cost you a whole lot less than the insurance.

Then there's all the talk about screwing you out of your second

amendment rights. Go out now to a gun show near you and buy all the AR15s

and AK47s that you can afford. Under no circumstances should you register

them. Buy them from a private party so you don't go through a background

check. If you have the money, get some guns as gifts for all your loved ones.

Don't forget the ammo. Several members of congress have decided that since

they may fail at taking away your gun rights, they will go after your

ammunition4.

Disagree with illegal immigrant amnesty? Picket and boycott any

housing project that rents to illegals and businesses that hire them5. If you

are afraid of retaliation or just don't have the time, take some pictures, print

up some fliers and plaster your neighborhood with them to let everybody

know who is helping Americans lose jobs and waste your hard-earned tax

money.

Barter. Trade work for goods and services whenever you can. There's no

way for the IRS to trace that so you won't get taxed on the fruits of your

labor. Don't get me wrong; Big Brother wants his cut6. He just has no way of

finding out what you did, unless you tell him.

If you live in a medical-marijuana state, get a card and tell everybody

you know to do the same thing.

Write LOTS of letters to your congresspeople7. Believe it or not,

politicians do read the letters they get. They all want to get re-elected so they

need to know what their constituents are thinking.

And the biggest civil disobedience move you can make? VOTE!!!

At least that's my opinion. What's yours?

04 March 2013

ARE WE A PEOPLE OF, FOR AND BY THE GOVERNMENT?

NOTE: SEE END OF ARTICLE FOR THE CRYPTO CONTEST WINNERS AND CRYPTOGRAM SOLUTIONS.

People, get ready. There's a storm a brewin' and it might just get ugly. It

is happening primarily over 4 issues. The one that started it all is that family-

destroying, ambition-killing, violence and crazed-sex inducing, moral-

corrupting scourge of the earth: marijuana.

According to more than a few experts, National marijuana

legalization is coming to a state near you1. Maybe sooner than you

think2.

The most recent move against federal power really began with medical

marijuana. "In 1966, California voters passed Proposition 215, making the

Golden State the first in the nation to allow for the medical use of marijuana3."

The arguments then moved on to immigration, gay rights and the biggie.

Of the 4 main issues being so hotly debated, the whole issue of personal

freedom and state's rights will probably (in my humble opinion) be decided by

the outcome of the fourth, and arguably the most divisive issue: gun-rights.

Lets face it. He who has the guns wins. But that's a story for another time.*

      Let's talk about pot.

For over a century there has been a conspiracy by the federal government

to keep marijuana illegal. According to WORLD-MYSTERIES.com4: "Pot is

NOT harmful to the human body or mind. Marijuana does NOT pose a threat

to the general public. Marijuana is very much a danger to the oil companies,

alcohol, tobacco industries and a large number of chemical corporations.

Various big businesses, with plenty of dollars and influence, have suppressed

the truth from the people.…POT IS ILLEGAL BECAUSE BILLIONAIRES

WANT TO REMAIN BILLIONAIRES!"

Some people think that the social weed was illegalized primarily for

public health reasons. The truth is that pot was first illegalized for economic

and racial reasons 5,3. Since then it has been, in my opinion, kept illegal only

because our glorious government refuses to admit when it screws up. And, of

course, our elected officials are viciously addicted to the money those

billionaires donate to their campaigns.

So what comes next? That depends on how far the people and their
elected state representatives are willing to push the issue. Up until the 2012
election, a few states had legalized medical marijuana and the federal
government mainly looked the other way. Now, however, our federal coffers
are worse than empty and the treasure chest of almost all of the states are in
dire need of contributions. Suddenly the concept of fully legalizing - and
taxing - marijuana is beginning to look very appealing to a lot of state
legislators as a way to generate massive amounts of much-needed revenue.
The federal powers-that-be still seem to vehemently oppose the move.

Colorado and Washington state have, through popular referendum

directly challenged federal authority by fully legalizing pot just like booze.

The resultant showdown has yet to play out.

Not so very long ago, Arizona decided to enforce federal
immigration laws that the federal government chose to ignore. In case
you haven't heard, that didn't turn out very well for Arizona.
Several states have legalized gay marriage and others found
compromises to give gays equal rights. This one at least has
President Obama's support.

Now, with Obama and some very liberal congress people trying to
completely dismantle the second amendment, some states have decided
that they are not only going to refuse to enforce any new federal
anti-gun laws, but a couple have gone so far as to declare that any
federal agents attempting to enforce new gun restrictions within
those states face possible arrest for interfering with state
sovereignty6.

I believe that all four of these issues are inextricably tied

together and will be decided as a single issue: ie. states rights and the 10th

amendment7. Hopefully, it will all get resolved at the ballot box or on the

floors of congress, but somehow I doubt it. I think there will be another war

and this time it will truly be a civil war**. I believe that it will be bloody and,

as with all wars, there will be no winner; only a side that loses less than the

other.

I'm glad that I'm old and don't have a whole lot longer to live. With any

luck, when the war does come, it will be after I'm dead and gone. God help

the children!

At least that's my opinion. What's yours?

UPDATE:

January of 2012 I published a post titled" LET'S TALK ABOUT THE ONE

WE LOST". In it I proposed the total legalization of all drugs. Now a

new documentary is coming out, produced by Richard Branson's son Sam

Branson. It is called "Breaking The Taboo" and basically proposes the

same thing. No; it's not full of a bunch of whacked-out dope heads.

The film features never-before-seen interviews with former

presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, narration by Morgan Freeman

and a trailer starring Kate Winslet. Watch the trailer here:

The video is supposed to air on television sometime in 2013.

And as for last month's crypto contest

CONGRATULATIONS
TO
Jessie S from Ohio and Bryon from Colorado

Jessie cracked the first challenge and Bryon got the first 2

See the plain text of cryptograms 1 & 2, along with their

individual cyphers here: CYPHER #1 CYPHER #2

Since nobody got the last two, I'll wait until next month to publish their solutions. That'll give everyone another month to work on them. Of course, you're still welcome to try your hand at solving any of them. Or all four.

not. Civil war is two groups fighting over control of the SAME
country (Definition:a war between political factions or regions

Confederate States was a war between two sovereign nations which ended
up dissolving one of them.
